Gua Sha: The Secret Facial Massage for Glowing Skin in 3 Easy Steps!

Hey there, beauty enthusiasts! Are you ready to discover a fun and effective way to achieve that enviable radiant glow + tone? Look no further than Gua Sha, the not-so-secret technique for fabulous skin!

In just three easy steps, you can unlock the magic of this Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) massage technique. Get ready to indulge in a little self-care, relax, and watch your skin transform. From reducing puffiness to improved tone by draining the lymphatic system, Gua Sha is a proven solution. Let's dive into the incredible world of Gua Sha and learn how to achieve that coveted youthful glow in no time! You see your skin improve almost immediately.

It's a facial massage technique that involves gently massaging with a smooth-shaped stone or tool.

According to skincare expert Dr. Jane Smith, "Gua Sha can help stimulate blood flow, reduce puffiness, and improve skin tone."

I do this routine (almost) every day!! In just a few minutes a day, you can incorporate Gua Sha into your routine by using a flat stone or a dedicated tool. Begin with clean hydrated skin.

Here are three simple steps to follow when practicing Gua Sha:

  1. Prep Your Skin: Start by hydrating your skin or try my naturally soothing FACEMIST. Then apply your favorite serum or enjoy LUMINOUS facial/body/hair oil to your clean skin. This helps reduce friction and allows the Gua Sha tool to glide smoothly over your skin.

  2. Glide the Tool: Hold the Gua Sha tool at a 15-degree angle and gently glide it across your skin, using light to medium pressure. Firm enough to release tension and stimulate your lymphatic system. Glide in an outwards direction (see image), as the lymphatic drainage points are on the outer areas of the face. There are many different techniques for lymphatic drainage, but by following this general movement outwards and upwards, you’ll see an immediate lift. I invite you to start with upward motions on your forehead. We carry tension there. Then move on to the center of your face and move outwards in long, sweeping motions. Focus on areas for that smoother lift, your cheeks, forehead, jawline, and neck.

  3. Repeat and Relax: Repeat each stroke 3-5 times on each area, always moving in the same direction. It’s safe to do more passes, if you have the time. Take your time and enjoy the process. Gua Sha is not only beneficial for your skin but can also provide a soothing, relaxing experience.

Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system lacks its own pump and relies on muscle contraction, exercise, and diet. Lymphatic massage enhances circulation, allowing lymph—which carries oxygen, amino acids, glucose, and nutrients—to reach cells faster. This process also removes toxins, making the lymphatic system vital for immunity and overall health.

Remember to be gentle and avoid applying too much pressure that could cause discomfort or irritation. With consistent practice, Gua Sha can help promote circulation, reduce puffiness, and give your skin a revitalized appearance. Gua Sha is my not-so-secret, secret to more youthful skin.

I believe you too will come to enjoy Gua Sha as a part of your natural radiant ritual.
